Wedding Hair Part IV – Twists & Spirals
Today we’ll cover Part 4 of our Wedding Hair Series featuring the ladies from my bridal party. If you missed Parts 1 thru 3, check the bottom of this post for links to those posts.
This bridesmaid was the only bridesmaid that was texturized. I would say that she is somewhere between a 4a and 4b hair type – it’s thick but not very coarse. Months before the wedding she was sporting a very low boy cut and had opted for a very short flat ironed cropped style. By the time of the wedding however, her hair had grown significantly. So much so that she was reluctant to have it cut into the style she had originally chosen (I don’t blame her). To give her texturized hair some shape it was trimmed so that the majority of the hair was toward the front/top of her head with the back tapered low. Her longest tresses were around ear length.
On the day before the wedding her hair was prepped – washed and conditioned and the 2-strand twists were done at the front and side only. The remaining hair was set with a setting lotion on very small rollers to create small spiral curls. These were left in overnight.
On the morning of the wedding the rollers were removed, the spiral curls were teased slightly and she was ready!
Stay tuned for Part 5 of this 8-part series
