My 6¢: One word – FABULOUS! That’s my take on this Dominican product. I purchased my first bottle of this stuff after hearing some ladies rave about it on some of the hair forums I frequent. It was towards the beginning of my hair journey and I was looking for a miracle in a bottle to be honest. I had tried numerous leave-ins prior to this one and they are all just ok to me. When I first looked at the product I wasn’t too impressed. It has a very slippery, runny consistency and smells perfumey (not my favourite scent). But once this stuff touches your hair. Oh my goodness! Imagine all the tangles melting away and replaced by silky slip! I kid you not! This stuff performs some miraculous feats and it does not weigh your hair down one bit. I think my hair is fairly unruly, especially after a wash, but a little Lacio Lacio immediately puts it in its place. I find it especially useful when I’m 5 or more weeks post relaxer, as the new growth starts to come in.
I can’t really vouch for the shine it imparts, because I almost always follow with an oil, or hair polisher, but it definitely softens like no other leave-in I have tried – this no doubt is due to the hydrolyzed silk proteins it contains.
Another good thing about this product is that you don’t need to use much to see the results. I’m still on my first bottle which was purchased over a year ago and from the looks of it I can still get another 3-4 uses out of what’s left in the bottle.
Now for the cons. In terms of moisturizing properties don’t trade in your regular moisturizer just yet. I don’t find Lacio Lacio to be a good moisturizer but guess what? – it doesn’t claim to be.
Lacio Lacio High Shine leave-in has never failed me. I keep it in my arsenal for use after my weekend washes. Sometimes I alternate between Lacio Lacio and Kenra MC, but I do think Lacio Lacio is better as a leave-in. I highly recommend it. If you use it for what its designed for (i.e. to add softness and shine) I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
