Health Before Length

Health Before Length

I had my hair relaxed today and my fears were realized…SPLIT ENDS. Despite all the moisturizing, deep conditioning, heat avoidance etc., I still managed to get some. This could partially be due to the extremely dry winter air we’re having here in Canada and my negligence.  You see I haven’t trimmed in over 5 months.  Any split ends that formed during that time had the opportunity to split further and further up the shaft because I failed to remove them.

I like to learn from my mistakes so from now on I’ll incorporate the search and destroy technique into my regimen once a month by using the guide given in this  How to Trim Unhealthy Split Ends article.

The only remedy for split ends is to cut them off, so I asked my stylist to do just that.  I lost an inch in some areas but I’m not going to dwell on it. This is all part of the journey.

  1. You gotta do what you gotta do. I wish now that I would’ve gotten my hair trimmed and evened out back when I had my sewin setback. I would be so much further along in my hhj. Your hair is so gorgeous and chic in that bob-style so if you have to rock it for a little while to keep it healthy, just know it still looks flyy. Your hair is still an INSPIRATION!!!

    • Thanks LaQT. I figured I might as well lose a couple inches now instead of claiming shoulder length with damaged ends.
