My 6¢: I’ve heard many good things about Macadamia oil so when this product caught my eye while strolling through the Walmart aisles I decided to give it a try. First off you know me and fragrances. This product smells amazing! It has a sweet smell with some vanilla notes, but I can’t describe the exact smell. It reminds me of a perfume my mother wore that I love, but the name of that perfume escapes me right now. …hmmm Chloé??? I can’t remember. Too bad you have to shampoo it out because I wouldn’t mind walking around with my hair smelling like Macadamia Oil Hot Oil Treatment.
The Hask Macadamia Hot Oil Treatment is akin to a prepoo. It is a very easy treatment to do, it takes all of 3 mins from nuking the water in the microwave to heat the oil, and rinsing out the treatment. I followed the instructions and used it right before shampooing my hair. The oil is light and very runny…so much so that I had to be careful not to pour out too much otherwise I would get it all over the place. The 1 oz bottle was more than enough for my less than shoulder-length hair. In fact, I wished it had a replaceable cover and I could have gotten two treatments out of every vial. When the hot oil treatment was massaged in to my hair, my hair became very slippery, almost with a soapy feel. The same was true for my shower floor so I had to be careful not to slip. It was a strange reaction for an “oil” but the tangles in my hair relaxed and I put the “soapiness” in the back of my mind and instead enjoyed the ease of running my fingers through the silkiness that was my hair. After rinsing, the softness remained and I continued with my normal routine.
I only used the Hask Macadamia Hot Oil Treatment on 2 occasions (the 2 vials that came in the package), so I can’t attest to whether it heals and rebuilds, I can however vouch for its moisturizing properties. The Hask Macadamia Hot Oil Treatment worked well in that it made my hair feel moisturized prior to shampooing. I would imagine that with continued use one might see greater improvements in their hair.
All in all I think this was a decent product, I would purchase it again especially for the smell lol.
